According to Tim Lawless, Head of Research for CoreLogic RP Data, Australian commercial property has enjoyed the same growth as residential property. When the numbers are in, Mr Lawless expects the total for 2015 to be in excess of $25 billion.
Where Mr Lawless sees a difference in commercial property compared to residential property is that commercial property doesn’t seem to be “flattening” or slowing in growth. According to the Australian Property Institute, commercial property sales will continue to grow in the foreseeable future. While Melbourne and Sydney could hit their peaks in 2017, the rest of Australia appears to show great opportunity for even more growth.
